We will be celebrating Negroni week from 24th – 30th June at Cantina. Join us and raise a glass to the fabulous drink, a popular Italian cocktail, made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished of course, with orange peel.
It is said that it was first mixed in Florence, in 1919 when Count Camillo Negroni asked the bartender, Fosco Scarselli, to strengthen his favourite cocktail, the Americano, by adding gin rather than the normal soda water. The bartender also added an orange garnish rather than the typical lemon garnish of the Americano. And… The Negroni was born!
For each Negroni sold, Cantina donate £1 to Mental Health Mates, D&D’s ‘Live your lunch break’ charity. Read all about the initiative, and the fabulous work Mental health mates are doing below.
